Select Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Southampton Select Board closes senior center over mold concerns, banks $223,510 FEMA grant for new firefighter gear. Town Administrator Scott told the board Tuesday that building and health officials shut the senior center's offices and hired Atlas Environmental to test for mold after staff reported moisture, with a report expected "probably by the end of the week." B&G Mechanical will inspect the aging HVAC system, and the town has ordered an industrial dehumidifier while weighing duct-cleaning quotes estimated at $5,000 to $10,000. The board also announced Southampton won a $223,510 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant for new SCBA air packs, with a roughly $700,000 pumper tanker truck grant still pending.
Members unanimously approved the 2026 state election warrant, signed off on $1,476,976.24 in town warrants, and entered executive session over a solar litigation matter.
