East Hampton Precinct 5 City Councilor Tamara Smith read a unanimous East Hampton City Council resolution opposing the tower, citing that the proposed site falls within 1,500 feet of 111 East Hampton residences versus 15 Southampton residences. The federal 150-day shot clock places the board's decision deadline at approximately October 1, 2026.
